I promised to write a review of Batman. Not really in the right mode now, but I'll write a little one.

It took a while for me to get hooked to be honest. Might be because I wasn't really ready for a movie and started over analysing everything, or it might just be because the beginning was a bit slow going. The bit up in the mountains is important to the story, but I think I would've trimmed it a little bit. I eventually got sucked in to the whole thing, and I really liked it.

Christian Bale did a great job. Must admit I was among the folk who wasn't sure abount him for the part, but he kicked ass.

I also liked Cillian Murphy, but I think his role was a bit too short, or unused, felt like they could have done a bit more out of it.

Must admit I had some flashbacks to Episode 1 in the mountain scenes with Liam Neeson. Not a part I'm that used to seeing him in this, but I liked it.

Gary Oldman was good as ever. He is a marvelous actor. Kind of felt he and Liam should have reversed roles, but I liked it very much the way it was.

Michael Caine is one of my faves, and I loved him in this part, almost felt he was made for it.

I also liked Morgan Freeman, I always like what he does.

Thruth be told, I love Liam Neeson, Gary Oldman, Michael Caine & Morgan Freeman. They are some of my fave actors out there, and having them in this movie was just wonderful.

The only one I kind of felt weird about was Katie, but that might just be because she'll always be 'Joey Potter' to me... or the hype about her and Tom Cruise.

All in all I really enjoyed the movie, and as I mentioned last time, the cast is greatly responsible for that, in my eyes. They all really did what they came to do, and a bit extra. Am def getting the DVD.

I quite liked that part as it is so faithful to the comics. At last, we get an intelligent Batman Movie :D
    • It was a good part, and as I said I wasn't in the right frame of mind for the beginning of the movie. Never read the comics, so I didn't know that it was part of it. :)

But I do agree with you, finally an intelligent batman movie.
  • If I remember corretctly, you havn't seen Batman with Michael Keaton, just the other ones?
He's a good Batman, but this one explains so much..
    • Cool, Chris is my fave batman i think. Seen enought bits of the michael keaton ones to decide that. :)
  • glad you liked it! and yea having excellent actors can make so much difference in a movie. I had fun with the campy Batman flicks but I also was happy to have his story done seriously. :)
    • My first thought when the end credits started was 'I wanna see the sequel now!' which is very rare for me. Am really looking forward to it though.
      • yep.. seeing that ref. to the Joker got the whole audience all hyped up! But who to play him, hmmm.. Someone said Crispin Glover, he's creepy and crazy enough to play him, lol.
        • I like Crispin Glover, but to me he'll always be the geeky dad in back to the future.

I heard Mark Hamill was considered for the part. I'm not hating that idea either, but I haven't read the comics so I have no idea.
          • yea I know what you mean.. lol. Did you see him in the Charlie's Angels movies? *very* creepy. And also the Willard movie.

I know Mark was the voice for Joker in the recent cartoon, and does it pretty well. But I haven't watched it myself.
